DEN LEADER TRAINING & REQUIREMENTS

There are 6 steps to registering and completing the Den Leader requirements:

1. Register as an adult volunteer with Pack 14

2. Sign up for an account in Scouting.org

3. Register as an Adult with Scouts BSA 

4. Complete YPT Training which is online training (takes a couple of hours to complete).  It can be accessed at:  my.scouting.org. See "Youth Protection Training Details" below for details on how to create an account.

5. Complete AB 506 Training and Fingerprinting:  All California residents supporting a Youth service organization must comply with Assembly Bill No. 506 - Youth service organizations:  child abuse and neglect prevention.  See "AB 506 Training and Fingerprinting Training Details" below for further details. 

6. Complete on-line training for Den Leaders

Note:  Completing the training and fingerprinting process requires you to pay some fees.  Please keep track of the fees. We will reimburse you for your expenses. 

YPT and AB 506 Training Details

Youth Protection Training Details:

• To get to the Youth Protection training, log in to my.scouting.org

• You may have to create an account.

• Click logo to take Youth Protection in English or SpanishClick logo to take Youth Protection in English or Spanish

• Click on “Add Plan”

• Click on Youth Protection Mandatory Training v2

• Click on “Launch Course” for each of the 4 modules:

AB 506 Training and Fingerprinting Training Details

Note:  Pack 14 is in the Golden Gate Council - you will need this information to upload your certificate

• All youth service organizations (e.g. Scout units, church groups, and sports teams) are required to meet AB 506 standards as of January, 2022. Two of the AB 506 standards affect all adult volunteers, all employees, and many of our families. Mandated Reporter Training is required in addition to our BSA Youth Protection Training. Volunteer leaders must complete the 2 hour training and upload their certificate at California Scouting by February 28, 2022.
